We will start the day with a Heart Meditation, followed by a trauma-sensitive yoga class. We will then look at the brain and nervous system, and how trauma affects these. Then we will explore together the key themes of trauma-sensitive Yoga:
- experiencing the present moment
- making choices
- taking effective action
- creating rhythms.
Furthermore, we will explore the domains of safety in a trauma-sensitive yoga class:
- environment
- teacher qualities
- atunement
- speech and language
- asana
- assists
There will be time for Q&A, before our closing circle and final Heart Meditation.
You will gain a basic understanding of trauma, and how it affects the nervous system. You will also learn how to offer yoga classes that are trauma-sensitive.
Please bring your own mat blanket and any props you like to use. Please also bring a vegetarian sharing dish for lunch.
The exchange for this day training is £75. If finances are a concern, please get in touch.
